TAHLEQUAH – The RiverHawks battled wet conditions, but a late goal from
Payton Lieb gave Northeastern State a 1-0 win Thursday night against Southwest Baptist.
The senior gave the NSU the lead in the 86th minute off a pass from
Sydney Taylor for Lieb's second goal of the year.
Thursday's shutout is the second consecutive over the Bearcats as the RiverHawks moved to 12-2-2 overall against Southwest Baptist.
Ainsley Cunningham had four saves in her seventh career shutout as Northeastern State improves to 2-0-1 this season.
Southwest Baptist had seven shots as they dropped to 0-2-1 on the year.
Northeastern State returns to action Monday, where they will host Harding at 6 p.m.
