Myka Heimbach kicked in her fourth goal of the season in the 87th minute as Northeastern State escaped with a 2-2 draw at home against Emporia State Friday evening.
Heimbach's equalizer came off a free kick from 25 yards out and jetted right of the ESU goalkeeper.
The goal was a late response from Emporia State, who took advantage of an NSU defensive deflection while inside the box to pull ahead in the 81st minute.
Sydney Taylor broke the match open for NSU in the 24th minute off a pass from
Hannah Stettler for her second goal of the year. Emporia State tied the match ten minutes later.
The draw is the fifth of the season for the RiverHawks as they go to 3-1-5 overall (0-1-1 MIAA). Emporia State moves to 2-4-3 overall, 0-0-2 MIAA.
Northeastern State remains at home to host Washburn Sunday at 1 p.m.
