TAHLEQUAH – Another match, another draw for the RiverHawks, who played a scoreless 0-0 match Sunday at home against Washburn.
The draw is the sixth of the season for NSU, surpassing a program high set during the 2011 season. However, that record was during the golden goal era when overtime periods were played in the regular season.
After a quiet first half for the RiverHawks, they were the attacking team in the final 45 minutes, outshooting Washburn (7-1-2, 2-0-1 MIAA) 12-to-8 with eight shots-on-goal.
Myka Heimbach had three shots at the Ichabod keeper, including one in the final seconds that missed just right of the goal.
Rebecca Partyka had a career-high eight saves and her second shutout.
The RiverHawks move to 3-1-6 (0-1-2 MIAA) on the year and remain at home to host Missouri Southern this Friday at 7 p.m.
