Flynn Semmerling moved into third place in the men's soccer record books, but No. 14 Northeastern State would come away with a 1-1 draw to Roger State Saturday night.
Semmerling landed a penalty kick in the 50th minute to break a scoreless match for his 38th career goal to move him past Grant Harkreader (1997-2000) on the all-time list.
The RiverHawks held the advantage for 15 minutes before RSU got a cross pass to connect off a free kick for the equalizer.
Northeastern State proved to be the attacking team Saturday and launched 24 shots at the Hillcats, with eight saves being recorded by the RSU keeper. Semmerling had eight of those shots with three on-goal.
The NSU defense limited Rogers State to eight shots, with
Niklas Kirhoff having three saves.
Rogers State's (2-2-5, 0-0-3 GAC/MIAA) goal snapped a 413-minute NSU streak without allowing a point.
Northeastern State (4-1-2, 2-0-1 GAC/MIAA) will head on the road next for a Thursday evening tilt at Newman in Wichita, Kan.
