CLAREMORE, Okla. — Northeastern State's regular season came to an end Sunday afternoon as the RiverHawks (6-8-4, 4-6-1 MIAA) dropped their final test before the MIAA Tournament to Rogers State (7-9-2, 4-7 MIAA) 2-1 at Soldier Field.

After a scoreless opening 26 minutes, both of RSU's goals came in the 27th with 35 seconds between them. The first make came off an unassisted try and their second resulted from a converted penalty kick.
NSU found a response in the opening minutes of the second half, cutting the RSU lead in half in the 48th minute off a
Sydney Taylor goal, assisted by
Abagayle Barnes. Taylor's score marked the ninth of her sophomore season and officially tripled her total from her freshman campaign.
Down one after the Taylor goal, RiverHawks outshot the Hillcats 4-1 across the rest of the match, with
Harley Louviere and
Eileen Jeschke offering on-goal attempts in the closing period. Despite that, neither could find the back of the net to prevent the loss.
Northeastern State will be on the road Friday for the MIAA Tournament Quarterfinal. Seeds and a bracket will be announced on Sunday evening.
