PRYOR – Northeastern State scored nine unanswered runs as they earned a non-conference series win over East Central 12-5 on Sunday afternoon.
DeClaudio Irvin hit a homer in the second and cleared the bases in the fifth as the RiverHawks improved to 3-3. Northeastern State is 4-2 all-time at Pryor High School, having last played on the field in 2021.
The RiverHawks had five players with multi-hit games;
Isaiah Keller led the way with three and was a triple short of the cycle.
Drew Miller homered in his first career start at NSU.
Korrdell Jiles struck out three batters and tossed 49 pitches in his first start of the season.
CJ Briley (1-0) went two innings of relief and earned his first win at NSU.
The Tigers (2-4) had six hits, with two of their runs coming unearned in the seventh inning.
Weather permitting, NSU is slated to play its home opener Tuesday against Southeastern Oklahoma.
