Bohuslavicky breaks single-season home run mark in 6-2 win

TAHLEQUAH – Chloe Bohuslavicky broke her own single-season home run mark as Northeastern State beat Northern State 6-2 Sunday.

The junior hit her 14th homer of the season in the 25th game as Northeastern State moved to 17-8 overall and swept the three-game set with Northern State.

Alexa Almejo plated a run for the RiverHawks in the second, scoring Allison Zanca on a ground ball out to second base.  Emily Sampson added NSU's second run in the third, scoring Addy Wolfe on a single to left field.

Savannah Evans blasted her eighth homer of the year, scoring three in the fourth.  Bohuslavicky later hit a 1-0 pitch to center, giving NSU a 6-0 lead.

Northern State scored two and loaded the bases in the fifth, making the RiverHawks pull Evans into the circle.  She would end the threat on three pitches, with the Wolves hitting in an inning-ending double play.

Evans went 2.2 innings and earned her second save of the year.  Lizzy Hall retired her first consecutive batters and went 4.1 innings, allowing one earned run to move to 5-0 on the year.

Northeastern State had 13 hits, with Sampson going 4-for-4 at the plate.  Northern State lost its fifth consecutive at RiverHawks Park, dropping to 6-14 overall.

The RiverHawks remain home to host Henderson State for a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
