Baseball drops series finale to Northwest Missouri

TAHLEQUAH – Northwest Missouri hit a grand slam in the fourth inning to open up a run of 11 unanswered runs Monday to beat Northeastern State 12-2 and prevented a series sweep by the RiverHawks.

In the opening two innings, Northeastern State tacked on runs, with C.D. White hitting an RBI double in the first and DeClaudio Irvin having an RBI ground ball out.  The RiverHawks were limited to four hits as they fell to 12-15 (6-10 MIAA) overall.

Northwest's (6-21, 4-12 MIAA) Ryan Koski was a triple short of the cycle, hitting a grand slam in the fourth and clearing the bases with a double in the following inning.

Korrdell Jiles (1-5) went 3.2 innings and struck out two.

The RiverHawks return to action Tuesday to host Central Oklahoma at 5 p.m.
