TAHLEQUAH – Central Missouri scored runs in the opening four innings and spoiled Northeastern State's first home night game Saturday 12-2 in seven innings.
The RiverHawks gifted a pair of runs off infield miscues in the opening two frames to help the Mules set the early tone.
Northeastern State (8-7, 2-2 MIAA) was limited to three hits, one of them being a
DeClaudio Irvin homer in the fifth to cut the UCM deficit to 8-2. The Mules homered twice in their next at-bats, extending the their lead to ten runs.
Seth Stacey (2-2) was limited to four innings and allowed six earned runs to cross home plate.
Central Missouri won its eighth consecutive game and improves to 11-5 (4-0 MIAA).
The RiverHawks return to Thomas C. Rousey Field Sunday at 2 p.m. for game two against the Mules.
