JOPLIN, Mo. –
Kademon Graff and
Isaiah Keller hit long balls in the seventh inning as Northeastern State slugged its away late at Missouri Southern 11-8 Sunday afternoon.
Keller hit the go-ahead home run and had hit a second in the ninth as insurance as the RiverHawks prevented a series sweep by the Lions.
Brady Evans went 3-for-3 at the plate with NSU out-hitting the Lions 15-to-8.
Northeastern State led 5-1 through the first three innings before Missouri Southern scored three in the fourth and added four more runs in the following inning.
Ty Van Meter also homered in the fifth, and
Coby Tweten hit his first triple of the season during the third inning.
The RiverHawks used five pitchers Sunday, with
Gage Fuller (1-2) picking up the win in relief.
Logan Stewart recorded five outs for his first career save.
Northeastern State moves to 19-24 (13-17 MIAA) with the win and is scheduled to host Oklahoma Baptist Tuesday at 5 p.m.
