SEARCY, Ark. –
Lexis Walls scored her first career goal for Northeastern State Sunday but a Harding goal in the 17th minute was the start of an early offensive attack that ultimately proved to be the difference in a 2-1 setback.
The loss dropped NSU to 0-1-1 on the year, while the Harding victory is their second straight to open the season.
Harding scored both their goals in the opening 29 minutes, with Walls cutting the deficit in half in the final three minutes of the opening half.
The RiverHawks were the attacking team in the second half outshooting Harding 10-to-2, with the Lady Bison stopping four at the net.
Lauren Parton and Walls both had a pair of shots-on-goal for the RiverHawks.
Northeastern State will continue its work on the road, as they head to Bolivar, Mo. on Thursday, Sep. 7 to take on Southwest Baptist in continued non-conference action.
