Women's Basketball goes cold in second half in 72-44 loss at Southern

JOPLIN, Mo. – Northeastern State's offense was limited to 20 points in the second half as they dropped a 72-44 road contest Wednesday night to Missouri Southern.

Courtney Lee scored 17 points for the third consecutive game and was NSU's lone player in double-figures. Patrycja Pawlata went 4-for-4 off the bench and had a career-high eight points.  Emily Weathers paced the team with seven rebounds.

The RiverHawks (9-9, 5-7 MIAA) trailed as many as 16 points in the first half but a 16-to-7 second stanza put them back 29-24 from the Lions at the intermission.

Missouri Southern (14-4, 10-2 MIAA) halted the RiverHawks' momentum quickly in the second half shooting above 59 percent from the field.  The Lions would hold double-digit advantages in the remaining two periods for their 11th consecutive win.

Northeastern State remains on the road to face Pittsburg State this Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
