Brynn Baldon registered a conversion off a penalty kick and
Olivia Kucharyski logged an unassisted goal as Northeastern State earned a 2-nil win over Newman on Sunday afternoon.
After a scoreless opening period from both sides, Baldon and the RiverHawks (10-5, 4-5 MIAA) took advantage of the PK opportunity inside the 65th minute. It marked their second score off a penalty kick this season and the fourth goal in the freshman season of Baldon. The visiting side would go on to firmly place the contest out of reach for the Jets (0-15-1, 0-10 MIAA) in the 85th minute with a make from Kucharyski.
On the match, the RiverHawks outshot the Jets (0-15-1, 0-10 MIAA) 16-to-12, while goalkeeper
Rebecca Partyka made six saves to assist the NSU defense to their sixth shutout of the fall.
The RiverHawks are back at DeLoache Field to face Fort Hays State on Friday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m.
