Eileen Jeschke had her first multi-goal night as Northeastern State dominated Missouri Southern 4-0 on Friday night. The RiverHawks (7-2, 1-2 MIAA) claimed its sixth consecutive against the Lions and remained undefeated at home to Southern in 13 matches.
Northeastern State had a season-high 32 shots on the Lions' defense with 19 of them being on-target. The 19 shots on-goal were the highest mark since Sept. 12, 2019 against Southern Nazarene and the most against a fellow MIAA program.
The RiverHawks struck first, scoring on a shot from Jeschke in the eighth minute. The junior received a cross pass from
Rachel Reed for her first goal since 2022.
Whitney Gentry nabbed her fifth goal of the year after she outplayed the Southern defense on a breakaway in the 19th minute. The scoring continued for NSU in the opening half and
Abagayle Barnes landed her first of the year on a pass from
Hannah Anderson with under four minutes left.
NSU's offense continued its attacks in the second half and they had ten shots that were on-target. Jeschke scored the team's final goal in the 79th minute as they turned in its fifth shutout of the season.
Rebecca Partyka had two saves and earned a combined shutout after playing the opening 79 minutes.
Missouri Southern (1-5-3, 0-2-1 MIAA) was limited to four shots overall and will leave Tahlequah winless in their last 13 road matches.
The RiverHawks return to action on Sunday at 1 p.m. to host Pittsburg State for the first time in program history.
