DURANT, Okla –
Deyanna Douglas was a rebound short of a double-double Wednesday night as Northeastern State lost 64-50 at Southeastern Oklahoma. The freshman paced the RiverHawks with 11 points off the bench and was tied with a game-high nine boards as they dropped to 0-3 to start the season.
Courtney Lee had ten points,
Alex Hill added eight, with
Grace Abercrombie and
Snowda Watie both scoring seven points.
The RiverHawks shot 29.3 percent (17-58) from the field and never led. Despite this, they left several opportunities at the free-throw line and NSU missed 17 of 31 attempts. On the glass, Northeastern State grabbed 47 to Southeastern's 40, and on the offensive side, the RiverHawks were +8 over the Savage Strom with 18.
Southeastern (1-2) had three players in double-figures with Holli Lindley having a game-high 14 points. The Savage Storm shot 40.4 percent (23-57) from the field and won its third consecutive against the RiverHawks.
Never team found much success at the arc with a combined total of three being made.
Northeastern State turns around to Haskell (Kan.) on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. for its Nike N7 Game.
