TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State blanked Nebraska Kearney while
Olivia Kucharyski scored off a
Hannah Anderson assist in a 1-nil win Sunday afternoon.
In a rain-soaked Doc Wadley Stadium, the RiverHawks (12-5, 6-5 MIAA) shut out their eighth opponent on the season and their fourth in league action. Goalkeeper
Rebecca Partyka made four saves on the grounds of Gable Field against the UNK offense, with the Lopers (7-5-5, 3-5-3) being outshot 20-to-7 across the day.
Kucharyski scored her fifth goal of the fall in the 48th minute to join
Whitney Gentry for the team lead. Anderson's assist was her fourth, giving her sole possession of the lead on the roster.Â
The win is NSU's fourth straight in the series against UNK, with every victory during the streak occurring in shutout fashion. Sunday marked the third time across that span that the RiverHawks have emerged with at least 20 tries on offense against the Lopers.
The victory also marks the team's eighth across a nine-match home schedule in 2024. The group finishes their home slate having earned their most wins in Tahlequah since 2019. It is the second time in the span of three seasons that the RiverHawks have only been defeated once at home, as well.
With one match left in the regular season, Northeastern State's win officially clinches the team a berth in the 2024 MIAA Women's Soccer Tournament, which kicks off at individual sites on Sunday, Nov. 10.
The regular season wraps up on Wednesday, Nov. 6 with a 6 p.m. start in Claremore against Rogers State.
