Women's Soccer closes regular season with a 1-0 win at Rogers State

CLAREMORE -- Sydney Taylor landed her fifth goal of the season as Northeastern State closed out its regular season with a 1-0 victory at Rogers State on Wednesday night.  The win brings Northeastern State to the No. 5 seed in the upcoming MIAA Tournament and will play at Central Oklahoma this coming Sunday in the quarterfinals.

Northeastern State closed out its regular season winning four straight as they improved to 13-5 (7-5 MIAA).  In the latest NCAA Central Region rankings the RiverHawks moved into the poll landing at No. 9 and will need to make a run in the MIAA Tournament to make a case for its second NCAA bid.

The win over the Hillcats (3-12-3, 2-7-3 MIAA) is the first for NSU in Claremore as they out-shot RSU 19-to-5.   Taylor tallied her third game-winning goal this season in the 38th minute.

Rebecca Partyka had three saves as the keeper earned her seventh shutout of the season.

The RiverHawks will head into the MIAA Tournament with the longest active win streak at four and their 13th consecutive postseason.
