BENTONVILLE - Northeastern State was limited to a run in two setbacks on Friday. The RiverHawks (3-3) dropped its first game to Harding 5-1 and fell to #8 ranked Texas-Tyler 9-1 in the nightcap.
Drew Hawkins led NSU with a pair of hits and drove in the team's lone run in the seventh inning. NSU matched Harding's (4-2) hit total with six but the damage was done in a four-run third inning, two of those came off a two-out triple to right-center.
In the nightcap, the RiverHawks were limited to two hits with their lone run being off a sac fly from Emily Sampson. Texas-Tyler (6-1) had 11 hits and recorded nine strikeouts.
Northeastern State returns to action on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Wayne State (Neb.).
