Ty Van Meter pushed his hitting streak to nine games but No. 3 Central Missouri banged out 16 to beat Northeastern State 18-2 on Friday at Thomas C. Rousey Field in seven innings.
Gage Williams hit a homer in the sixth as the RiverHawks were limited to four hits against the Mules.
NSU used eight relievers after
Chance Condit (0-2) departed the game in the fourth inning. UCM (13-3, 3-1 MIAA) scored 17 runs in the final four innings and hit three homers during those frames.
The RiverHawks' second run came on an infield error with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning with Van Meter scoring on the play.
Northeastern State falls to 9-8 (1-3 MIAA) with the loss the two teams will meet again on Saturday at 3 p.m.
