TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State men's soccer soars into season 14 of the
Rob Czlonka era this fall. Fresh off an eight-win campaign last year that saw the RiverHawks make an appearance in the GAC/MIAA postseason, the team will embark on a 17-match slate in September, with eight at home.
The season starts with five non-conference dates, with the opener pitting the RiverHawks against Missouri S&T of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) on Sep. 5 in Rolla, Mo. Following that, the team encounters four opponents from the Lone Star Conference (LSC) in Lubbock Christian (Sep. 12) and Eastern New Mexico (Sep. 14) at Dr. Dan DeLoache Field in Tahlequah and St. Edwards (Sep. 19) and Dallas Baptist (Sep. 21) on the road.
A 12-match GAC/MIAA schedule starts with Harding at home on Sep. 26. A two-match homestand concludes with Ouachita Baptist (Sep. 28) to round out the month of September. A road trip to Kansas looms large for the following week of action, with journeys to Newman (Oct. 3) and Fort Hays State (Oct. 5) on tap.
A brief stay at home to battle in-state opponent Southern Nazarene (Oct. 9) commences before the team goes back on the road for three straight matches to Rogers State (Oct. 17), Ouachita Baptist (Oct. 19) and Southern Nazarene (Oct. 26).
Three of NSU's last four are back in Tahlequah, with the RiverHawks playing the hosts in rematches with Fort Hays State (Oct. 31), Newman (Nov. 2) and Rogers State (Nov. 7). The regular season concludes on Nov. 9 in Searcy, Ark. for another battle with Harding.
The GAC/MIAA postseason begins with the semifinal round on Nov. 15 and concludes on Nov. 17 with the championship match.
