52 First-Year Student-Athletes and Newcomers land on MIAA Academic Honor Roll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- 52 Northeastern State First-Year and Newcomer student-athletes earned academic accolades from the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association  (MIAA) Friday as members of its Honor Roll.

Baseball led the way with 15 student-athletes being named, followed by football with nine, and softball had six.

Student-Athletes must have at least a 3.0-grade point average to be eligible to be on the Association's Honor Roll.

The RiverHawks had five land on the Scholar-Athlete list for having at least a 3.5 GPA and being named All-MIAA.  Tyson Fourkiller (Baseball), Maddie Messenger (Softball), Jessica Parker (Women's Golf), Tegan Heaton (Women's Tennis), and Halie Jones (Women's Basketball) were named. 

Jacob Bowman (Baseball), Braedyn Sheofee (Softball), Evan Weaver (Men's Golf), Sofia Kotliarova (Women's Tennis), and Avrey Payne (Football) were on the MIAA's Academic Excellence list for having a perfect 4.0 GPA.
