TAHLEQUAH - The RiverHawks scored twice in the second half to beat Ouachita Baptist 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Northeastern State (2-3-3, 2-0 GAC/MIAA) used its bench to break the scoreless match with Assanie Brown connecting in the 61st minute. Ivan Lopez extended the lead with a penalty kick goal ten minutes later.
Ouachita (1-5-1, 0-2 GAC/MIAA) scored in the 77th minute to snap a string of seven scoreless matches against the RiverHawks.
NSU's defense limited the Tigers to five shots with the RiverHawks having 24, ten of which were on-target.
Lopez paced the team with five shots, and Brown had four.
The RiverHawks continue GAC/MIAA play on Thursday, October 3 at Newman.
