Adams, Fuenmayor Lead RiverHawks Over Southern Nazarene

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Carter Adams scored in his third straight match as Northeastern State downed Southern Nazarene 2–1 on Wednesday night at DeLoache Field, snapping an eight-match losing streak to the Crimson Storm.

Adams' equalizer in the 28th minute erased an early penalty-kick goal from SNU's Francisco Chong, and Brandon Fuenmayor netted the game-winner in the 65th minute off a corner kick from Kash Dunkel to seal it for the RiverHawks.

NSU (6-3-2, 3-2 MIAA/GAC) out shot SNU 19–12 and put 10 on frame, while goalkeeper Cameron McColloch tallied five saves to preserve the win.

The victory marked Northeastern State's first over Southern Nazarene since 2021, ending an eight-match skid in the series.

The RiverHawks will be back in action Oct. 15 at Rogers State in Claremore, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
