The RiverHawks (6-5, 3-0 MIAA) wasted no time, plating five runs in both the first and second innings to take a commanding early lead. They racked up 16 hits, including home runs from
Gage Williams and
Tanner Almond.
Holden Yoder led the way offensively, going 3-for-3 with four runs scored and reaching base five times.

On the mound, starter
Murphy Bostick (1-0) earned the win, allowing one run on one hit over five strong innings while striking out three. The NSU bullpen worked through a sixth inning in which Newman (3-8, 0-3 MIAA) scored six runs, but

Newman was limited to seven hits but capitalized on walks and a big sixth inning to stay within striking distance. Eli Wohl homered and drove in a pair for the Jets.
