TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State struggled offensively in a 5-0 loss to Central Missouri on Friday at RiverHawks Park.
The RiverHawks (10-23, 4-9 MIAA) managed just three hits while being held scoreless through seven innings. Central Missouri (18-11, 6-4 MIAA) took control early, scoring two runs in the second inning before adding three more in the fifth to secure the victory?.
NSU's offense was limited to a trio of singles, with Olivia Brown, Lauryn Heinle and Macie Sawney each reaching base safely. Starting pitcher Gracie Turner (4-6)Â held her own early but ran into trouble in the fifth inning.
The RiverHawks' defense remained clean, committing no errors, but they couldn't capitalize on their limited offensive opportunities, leaving four runners stranded.
