TAHLEQUAH — Korynn Tindel homered on her ninth extra-base hit of the season and Drew Hawkins doubled in a 2-0 victory over Central Missouri in late action Friday night.
The contest's lone scoring play occurred in the bottom of the third, which saw Tindel drive in Hawkins. It gave the hosts an edge on the scoreboard that wouldn't be surrendered, as Madison Heinle would go on to toss her fourth complete game of the season and completed the shutout bid after holding the Jennies (18-12, 5-5 MIAA) to five hits. Madison Nance landed a hit alongside Hawkins and Tindel in the win, while the defense closed out a clean day with no errors committed.
The victory marks the 15th for Northeastern State (11-23, 5-9 MIAA) in the all-time series with the Jennies and their first true home win of the campaign. It also marks the second consecutive season featuring a home split with UCM.
NSU continues the homestand by hosting Missouri Southern Saturday at 1 p.m.
