SHAWNEE, Okla. – Korynn Tindel hit her sixth home run of the season, but two unearned runs proved costly as Northeastern State fell 5-3 to Oklahoma Baptist in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader.
All three of the RiverHawks' runs came in the third inning, tying the game at 3-3. The Bison regained the lead with a leadoff homer in the bottom half of the inning and added an insurance run with two outs in the sixth.
Both unearned runs came in the second inning after an infield error extended the frame.
Northeastern State (15-31) was held to four hits, with its final 11 batters retired in order. Tindel took the loss, pitching six innings and striking out two.
Oklahoma Baptist collected six hits and improved to 29-15.
The RiverHawks return to action April 26 for their regular-season finale against Rogers State at home.
