WARRENSBURG, Mo. — Diego Murillo and Caleb Reynolds homered, but No. 3 Central Missouri pulled away from Northeastern State with 10 unanswered runs for a 17-5 win in seven innings on Friday evening.
Murillo had two hits, and Gage Williams extended his hitting streak to eight consecutive games with a single in the third inning.
The RiverHawks (13-32, 10-21 MIAA) took an early lead in the first inning, with Murillo stealing home before the Mules scored five runs in the bottom half. Northeastern State held UCM scoreless for the next two innings, plating two in the second and pulling within a run in the third following an Austin Rees sacrifice fly.
Central Missouri (34-9, 25-6 MIAA) outscored the RiverHawks 12-1 over the next three innings and tacked on eight runs in the sixth to end the contest early. The Mules out-hit the RiverHawks 15-8 and left 10 runners on base.
Drake Sisemore (0-3) made his fifth start of the season and went 3 1/3 innings.
The series continues Saturday with a 2 p.m. first pitch.
