ADA – Northeastern State lit up the scoreboard for its biggest outburst in nearly seven years, routing East Central 6-0 on Thursday at Tiger Field.
The RiverHawks struck early and often, building a 4-0 lead by halftime. Brynn Baldon opened the floodgates in the seventh minute with a penalty kick, and Hannah Anderson — who has made a habit of punishing the Tigers — doubled the lead five minutes later off Baldon's feed.
Kendall Stejskal and Lola Cavalle added goals in the 23rd and 33rd minutes, giving NSU its highest first-half output in years.
Anderson kept rolling after the break, tucking in her second of the night in the 56th minute off a setup from Jaclyn Barritt. Michaela Williamson capped the scoring spree in the 68th, finishing a pass from Terrin White.
The six-goal explosion was Northeastern State's most since Sept. 14, 2018, when it scored six against Missouri Southern. Anderson now has four goals in just two career matches against ECU.
It was also the RiverHawks' seventh straight victory over the Tigers and their eighth consecutive win in Ada dating back to 2000. NSU improved to 4-1-0, while ECU slipped to 0-5.
Northeastern State returns home on Sunday to host Missouri Southern at 1 p.m.
