TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Northeastern State volleyball fell to Emporia State 3-0 on Friday night at the NSU Event Center, dropping the sets 25-13, 25-18 and 25-20.
Ashlyn Tag and
Simeon Paradiso led the RiverHawks with eight kills apiece. Tag hit .375 with just two errors on 16 attacks, while Paradiso added three digs and two blocks.
Poliana Lazarini recorded 15 digs to lead Northeastern State defensively.
Sydney Dunkleberger finished with 15 assists and three digs, while
Tiyana Bhatte added seven assists and five digs.
Devine Okon contributed three kills and three block assists.
Northeastern State finished with 31 kills and 24 errors on 103 attacks, hitting .068 as a team. The RiverHawks also recorded 40 digs, one service ace and three total blocks.
Emporia State hit .229 and finished with 40 kills. Piper Bahr led the Hornets with 14 kills, while Brailee Bogle recorded 27 assists. Emporia State also led 10-3 in total blocks.
The RiverHawks fall to 1-17 overall and 0-7 in Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association play. Emporia State improves to 16-3 overall and 3-2 in conference play.
Northeastern State returns to action Saturday, hosting Pittsburg State at 6 p.m. at the NSU Event Center.
