ADA, Okla. -- Northeastern State completed a doubleheader sweep of East Central on Tuesday, closing the day with a 5-2 victory at Tiger Field.
The RiverHawks improved to 10-7 overall behind another standout performance from
Korynn Tindel, who recorded her third straight multi-hit game and played a key role in both contests.
In the nightcap, Northeastern State broke a 1-1 tie with two runs in the second inning and added insurance in the seventh. Tindel finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two stolen bases, helping set the tone offensively.
Madison Nance drove in two runs, including an RBI single in the seventh, while
Peyton Watson added a run-scoring hit to extend the lead to 5-2.
In the circle, Aubree Saporito earned the win after allowing two runs over four innings. Tindel pitched the final two innings to secure the save, shutting down East Central's late threat.
Tindel also earned the win in the opener, giving her a victory and a save on the same day as NSU secured its first doubleheader sweep of the season.
The RiverHawks return home Saturday to host Missouri S&T in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
