RiverHawks Fall to Rogers State, 84-80

TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State erased multiple second-half deficits and had a chance in the final seconds, but Rogers State escaped with an 84-80 win Wednesday night at the NSU Event Center.

The RiverHawks (12-15, 5-13 MIAA) trailed by as many as eight midway through the second half before battling back behind Nehemiah Weber's 18 points. Weber went 6-for-9 at the free-throw line and knocked down two clutch attempts with 23 seconds left to pull NSU within one.

Taven Washington added 12 points, including a late 3-pointer to keep the RiverHawks within striking distance. Harry Neilson chipped in 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting, while AJ Reed Jr. finished with nine points and a team-high five assists.

NSU shot 50 percent (31-of-62) from the field and scored 40 points in the paint, but struggled from beyond the arc, hitting 4-of-20 from 3-point range.

Rogers State was led by Caden Fry's 26 points and 11 rebounds, while Tim Jordan Jr. added 16 as the Hillcats shot 52.5 percent overall.

Northeastern State returns to action Saturday at 3:30 p.m. for Senior Day against Central Oklahoma inside the NSU Event Center.
