TAHLEQUAH, Okla. —
Xavier Glenn scored a game-high 23 points and added nine rebounds, but Northeastern State could not hold off a strong second-half push by Nebraska-Kearney, falling 89-82 on Saturday afternoon inside the NSU Event Center.
Glenn recorded his 10th 20-point performance of the season and was one rebound shy of a double-double.
AJ Reed Jr. added 19 points and a game-high seven assists, while
Harry Neilson chipped in 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting, and
Nehemiah Weber tallied 12 points.
The RiverHawks (12-10, 5-8 MIAA) led for over 22 minutes and held a 45-36 advantage at the half. However, Nebraska-Kearney (11-14, 4-10 MIAA) shot 50.0 percent in the second half and outscored NSU 53-37 over the final 20 minutes.
Ja'Bryant Hill led the Lopers with 25 points, and Kendrick Gilbert and Anthony Swift each added 19. UNK finished at 44.8 percent from the field and made 23-of-28 from the stripe.
NSU closed to within 80-77 with 2:28 remaining, but the Lopers responded with a 9-5 run to secure the road win.
Northeastern State continues MIAA play on Thursday, Feb. 12, with a road matchup at Central Missouri. Tipoff from Warrensburg is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
