Northeastern State Heads to Ponca City for Midweek Clash

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — The RiverHawks will head to Ponca City for the first time to face Northwestern Oklahoma in a neutral-site contest Tuesday at 2 p.m. (at Ponca City HS).

Northeastern State (2-2) earned a series win over visiting Upper Iowa, outscoring the Peacocks 35–25. Junior infielder Klete Finley leads the team through four games, batting 9-for-18 with three extra-base hits. Alex Nirider has driven in seven runs, and Jackson Dillingham has homered in his two starts for NSU.

Northwestern Oklahoma (5-4) picked up a series win over New Mexico Highlands in Alva, with its lone blemish a 6-1 loss in Game 1 of a Saturday doubleheader. The Rangers are allowing just over six runs per game and are batting .313 overall.

Since 1991, the Rangers hold a 15–14 edge in the overall series and have won the last two meetings. The teams did not meet during the 2025 season, and RiverHawks head coach Kyle Williams has not previously faced Northwestern Oklahoma.
