PRYOR, Okla. – Northeastern State rallied late to secure a 3-2 win over Newman on Saturday at Pryor High School.
The RiverHawks (5-13, 1-6 MIAA) trailed most of the game after Newman scored once in the first inning and added another run on a solo home run in the second to take a 2-0 lead. Northeastern State was limited offensively early but remained within striking distance thanks to a strong outing on the mound.
Starting pitcher
Bryce Parlin kept the RiverHawks in the game, allowing two runs on seven hits across seven innings while striking out four. Parlin also worked through five walks before handing the ball to the bullpen with Northeastern State still within reach.
The RiverHawks broke through in the seventh inning.
Tregan Hyder started the rally with a walk and later stole second before advancing to third on a groundout.
Chance Pair followed with a sacrifice fly to bring Hyder home and cut the deficit to one.

Jackson Dillingham drew a walk,
Jaxon Gregory delivered the decisive hit, driving a double into left-center field that scored two runs and gave Northeastern State a 3-2 lead.
Gregory finished with two hits and two RBI to lead the RiverHawks offensively.
Jackson Hill closed the game for Northeastern State, pitching two scoreless innings and allowing just one hit while striking out two to earn the save.
Northeastern State returns to action Sunday at 2 p.m. when it hosts the Jets.
