TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Northeastern State scattered five hits in an 11-2 loss to Pittsburg State on Saturday afternoon as the Gorillas completed a series sweep.
Pittsburg State took control early, scoring two runs in the opening inning and adding eight unanswered runs to build a commanding lead.
Joseph Perry broke up the shutout in the sixth inning with a solo home run to right field.
Jaxon Gregory added an RBI in the seventh.
The RiverHawks used seven pitchers in the contest.
Jackson Hill (2-2) made his second start of the season, pitching two innings. Hill had also been used earlier in the suspended game from Friday, which resumed Saturday afternoon.
Pittsburg State won that contest 13-3 in eight innings, highlighted by two home runs from
Klete Finley.
Northeastern State fell to 13-24 overall and 8-17 in MIAA play. The RiverHawks will travel to Arkansas-Fort Smith on Tuesday for a 1 p.m. matchup.
