TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Northeastern State closed out its regular season Saturday with a 7-0 loss to No. 18 Washburn in MIAA women's tennis action.
The RiverHawks (12-9, 5-4 MIAA) were swept in doubles play, with Washburn taking all three courts to secure the opening point.
In singles, Washburn maintained control, winning all six matches in straight sets to complete the shutout.
Renata Morales and
Daisy Barrow faced nationally ranked opponents at the top of the lineup but were unable to break through.
Despite the result, Northeastern State finishes the regular season with a winning record and will move on to postseason play.
The RiverHawks are set to compete in the MIAA Tournament beginning May 1 in Springfield, Missouri.
