EMPORIA, Kan. -- Northeastern State was limited offensively in a 10-1 loss to Emporia State on Friday in MIAA action.
The RiverHawks (16-31, 11-24 MIAA) struck first with a run in the second inning but were unable to keep pace as Emporia State pulled away with a four-run fifth and added insurance late.
Chance Pair led Northeastern State at the plate, going 3-for-4 to record his fourth three-hit game of the season.
Xavier Sanchez added a double, while
Finley Bunch drove in the RiverHawks' lone run.
Northeastern State managed five hits overall and struck out eight times against the Hornets' pitching staff.
Ty Presley (4-4) took the loss on the mound, allowing five runs over 4 1/3 innings.
The RiverHawks will close out the regular season Saturday at noon.
