KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Northeastern State Women's Soccer has been picked to finish eighth in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) preseason poll, released Wednesday morning by conference officials.
The RiverHawks earned 66 points in the voting. Washburn topped the poll with 138 points and seven first-place votes, edging Pittsburg State, which also claimed six first-place nods and 136 points. Central Missouri took third with 119 points, with Missouri Western fourth (108 points), and Central Oklahoma rounding out the top five (96 points).
Northwest Missouri came in sixth place (92 points), and Emporia State was seventh (85).
Nebraska-Kearney (45 points) took ninth, Fort Hays State (43 points), Rogers State (41 points), Missouri Southern (25 points), and Newman (22 points) rounded out the poll.
Northeastern State closes its preseason at Southern Nazarene on August 21.
