TAHLEQUAH, Okla. —
Sophia See scored her first career goal at Northeastern State in the 57th minute, as the RiverHawks held on for a 1-0 victory over Harding on Sunday at DeLoache Field.
See, who was limited to five matches during her sophomore season at Northeastern State, delivered the game-winning goal after entering the match as a substitute.
Hannah Anderson provided the assist on the goal, which came 11:40 into the second half.
The RiverHawks controlled the match after halftime and created several opportunities to extend their lead. Northeastern State finished with 11 shots, including four on goal, while Harding recorded 15 shots and six on target.
Goalkeeper
Juliette Langlet came up big for the RiverHawks, making six saves to record her first shutout of the season. Harding goalkeeper Maysa Willis made three saves.
Harding pressured late, but Northeastern State's defense held firm to preserve the shutout.
The victory was NSU's third consecutive shutout of Harding at DeLoache Field and extended the RiverHawks' all-time record against the Bisons to 22-3-1.
Northeastern State improved to 2-0 on the season and will have one day off before returning to DeLoache Field on Tuesday to welcome Oklahoma Christian. The match marks the first meeting between the programs at Northeastern State since 2015.
