TAHLEQUAH – The Northeastern State University football team moved up five spots to No. 18 in the D2Football.com poll, the publication announced Monday morning.

Behind a program-record 33 first downs, the RiverHawks rolled Delta State 52-0, a team that was receiving more votes than NSU in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Poll.  

The RiverHawks have been ranked in the D2Football.com publication since the end of the 2025 season and have won their last eight games, which is the second-longest nationally behind last season's national champions, Ferris State.

Northeastern State heads on the road for the next four weeks and visits Missouri S&T on Saturday, September 5 for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
