TAHLEQUAH, Okla. --
Annabella Trotter scored twice for the first multi-goal game of her career as Northeastern State defeated Missouri Southern 4-0 on Sunday at DeLoache Field.
The RiverHawks improved to 4-1-1 with their third consecutive shutout and ninth straight victory over Missouri Southern.
Trotter opened the scoring just 2:02 into the match, taking a pass from
Riley Haynes and putting Northeastern State ahead 1-0.
Rachel Reed doubled the lead less than two minutes later at 3:46, scoring off an assist from Trotter.
Mya Lynn Tran added to the lead in the 22nd minute, converting a penalty kick to give the RiverHawks a 3-0 advantage at halftime.
Trotter added her second goal at 52:20, assisted by Tran, to complete the scoring.
Northeastern State finished with 15 shots, including eight on goal, while Missouri Southern had seven shots and four on target.
Juliette Langlet made three saves in the first half before
Grace Knoblock took over in the second half and made one save to preserve the shutout.
The victory closed out the RiverHawks' non-conference schedule.
Northeastern State opens MIAA play Friday, Sept. 18, at Northwest Missouri.
