2016 - Appeared in 10 games and started two as a true freshman...recorded 23 tackles and had 5.5 take-downs for losses...recorded as season high four tackles twice, last at Central Oklahoma on Nov. 12...broke up one pass and deflected another.
 
Background – named an all-star and to the all-district team his senior year as McAlester HS...finalist for Mr. Football by VYPE Magazine, and he was also named to the VYPE Top 100 list in Oklahoma... area’s defensive MVP and the team’s defensive player of the year. He helped lead MHS to back-to-back bi-district championships....competed for Hartshorne High School for his freshman and sophomore years where he led them to the state playoffs (freshman)....was a second-team all-district honoree sophomore year.

Personal –  Son of Billy and Stacy Herring. His father, Billy, competed as a member of the track team at Southwest Christian College...older brother, Dallas, is currently a senior running back at East Central University.
