DURANT, Okla. – The Northeastern State softball team lost both games on Day One of the Southeastern Regional Invitational Friday at the Durant Multi-Sport Complex.
The RiverHawks (0-2) lost to Arkansas Tech 7-5, and then fell 5-2 to Drury.

ARKANSAS TECH 7, NORTHEASTERN STATE 5 (Box Score)
Arkansas Tech posted two runs in the first inning after a rocky start from senior pitcher Cayce Coleman. Northeastern State rallied on a homerun from Madison Reed in the home half of the frame to tie the Golden Suns 2-2.

NSU pulled ahead with a run scored by Danielle Huval in the bottom of the second to advance 3-2. Tech remained scoreless until the fifth inning, when the team scored three runs to clinch the lead 5-3. The RiverHawks battled back and scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to tie Arkansas Tech once more at 5-5, but the Golden Suns secured the lead in the seventh inning after scoring two runs to outscore NSU 7-5.    

Saharra Henson, Amanda Harjo and Danielle Huval all led NSU with two hits, and Robison drove home three runs. Harjo also scored twice and recorded two RBI.
Coleman (0-1) threw all seven innings and allowed seven runs (six earned). She recorded two strike outs and hit six batters.
 
 
DRURY 5, NORTHEASTERN STATE 2 (Box Score)
In game two, NSU scored in the bottom of the second to take the early 1-0 lead over Drury. The Panthers evened the score 1-1 in the top of the third and shot ahead in the top of the fourth with four runs. The RiverHawks scored one run in the bottom of the fourth but it wasn't enough as both teams remained scoreless for the final three innings. Drury posted a win of 5-2 over the RiverHawks.

Navada Campos had one run and one RBI, and Lisa Ripperger had one run for the RiverHawks.
Freshman Kayce Wooldridge (0-1) took the loss after tossing a complete game. She allowed five runs on eight hits, while striking out three and walking two.
