2013 MIAA Championship Home 

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Northeastern State softball team has earned the No. 5 seed in the 2013 MIAA Softball Championship. The RiverHawks are set to meet No. 4 Emporia State in the first round at 2 p.m. May 3 at the Blue Valley Recreation Complex in Overland Park, Kan.
 
NSU (26-22, 16-10 MIAA) will be making its first appearance in the postseason since 2007, when the school was a member of the Lone Star Conference. The RiverHawks have already recorded the most wins in a single season since the '07 campaign.
 
Northeastern State and Emporia State (33-16, 18-10 MIAA) split a doubleheader in Tahlequah April 13 in their lone meeting of the year.
 
The winner of the contest will meet the winner of No. 1 Central Oklahoma vs. No. 8 Northwest Missouri State at 4 p.m. May 3. The loser of the contest will play the loser of that same contest, also at 4 p.m.
