WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The Northeastern State softball team dropped two on the second day of the Holiday Inn at the Falls Invitational Saturday evening at Mustangs Park.
The RiverHawks (2-4) fell to Cameron (6-3) 13-9 and then lost to host team Midwestern State (6-4) 8-5.

NSU senior
Madison Reed led off the first frame with a single up the middle. Sophomore
Saharra Henson followed up with a shot to left field to advance Reed. Freshman
Madison Boyd jacked a three-run homer over the left field wall to give NSU the early advantage. Junior
Alyssa Aguilar then doubled to left field and was brought home on a double down the right field line by senior
Allyson Pogue.
The RiverHawks plated two more runs in the top of the second inning. Freshman
Tori Venable, who reached base on a double to left center, scored on a poke from Henson to right field. Henson then scored after Boyd singled to center field to improve the lead 6-0.
Cameron exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the second to chase sophomore
Alex Files from the game. The Aggies plated another run at the bottom of the third to lead NSU 8-6.
The RiverHawks posted three runs from Reed, Henson and Boyd to pull past Cameron by one in the top of the fourth, but the Aggies battled back with four additional runs in the fifth and sixth frames to chalk up a 13-9 victory over Northeastern State.
Sophomore
Kayce Wooldridge (1-2) suffered the loss in the circle after throwing four innings. She allowed 13 hits and six runs. Henson and Boyd both had three hits, and Boyd drove in five runs. Henson scored three times.

The Mustangs took the early lead with a two-run second, but NSU posted five runs in the top of the third to take a 5-2 advantage.
In the third, Reed singled to left field and Henson walked. Both batters were driven home on a three-run homer from Aguilar, who tapped a dinger to left field and added three RBI for NSU.
Senior
Navada Campos also homered in the frame to give the RiverHawks the five-run inning.
Midwestern State was able to tack on a run in the fourth frame to pull within two.
The RiverHawks would not score another run for the remainder of the contest. The Mustangs cranked out five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to come from behind and top Northeastern State 8-5.
Senior
Kylee Cole (1-1) tabbed the loss after pitching the full six innings. She allowed 10 hits and eight runs.
The RiverHawks will face Midwestern State at 10 a.m. followed by Cameron at noon for the final day of the tournament.
