WARRENSBURG, Mo. - The Northeastern State softball team lost a doubleheader to Central Missouri Sunday afternoon at Jennies Field.
The RiverHawks (24-14, 10-6 MIAA) lost game one by a slim 2-1 margin, and the Jennies (19-13, 7-5 MIAA) run-ruled NSU 16-8 in the series finale.
UCM 2, NSU 1 (Box Score)
The RiverHawks opened the game plating one run in the top of the first to lead the Jennies 1-0. Freshman
Madison Boyd scored the lone run for NSU on a single from junior
Alyssa Aguilar. Boyd reached base on a single to center field.
NSU would lead UCM 1-0 until the bottom half of the final frame. Central Missouri scored two runs to one up NSU and win the game 2-1.
Aguilar led Northeastern State with two hits and one RBI.
Senior
Shelbie Wagnon (3-3) took the loss in the circle after throwing 6.1 innings. She allowed seven hits and two runs.

Sophomore
Saharra Henson cracked a home run to left field to score senior
Madison Reed and freshman
Lauren Flanary to lead the Jennies 3-0 in the top of the first frame. Henson's home run was her seventh of the season and the fourth in her last seven outings.
UCM answered back with a big five-run bottom of the first inning to pull ahead of NSU 5-3.
The Jennies scored one run in the bottom of the second frame and four more in the bottom of the third frame to improve their score to 10-3.
Northeastern State senior
Navada Campos jacked a leadoff home run to center field to post a run in the top of the fourth to up the score to 10-4. Â The home run was Campos' sixth for the season.
UCM countered and scored one run in the bottom of the fifth to lead 11-4.
The RiverHawks caught fire in the top of the sixth when Aguilar doubled to left field to score in Henson and Reed. Senior
Allyson Pogue hit a home run to center field to score Aguilar but still trailed behind the Jennies 11-8.
Central Missouri tacked on five more runs in the bottom of the sixth frame to defeat NSU 16-8.
Pogue led NSU with two hits and one RBI, and her home run in the top of the sixth was her first of the season. Henson added one hit and three RBI while Aguilar tabbed two runs batted in.
Sophomore
Kayce Wooldridge (12-6) took the loss in the circle after throwing 2.0 frames. She allowed 10 hits and nine runs (six earned). Junior
Laura Fleck entered the game to relieve Wooldridge and threw the final 4.0 innings in the circle. She allowed eight hits and seven runs (four earned).
The RiverHawks will be on the road for their next contest against Arkansas Tech at 3 p.m. April 2 at Chartwells Complex in Russellville, Ark.
