TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – The Northeastern State softball team is set to play doubleheaders against Lindenwood and Lincoln. The RiverHawks (8-12, 0-4 MIAA) will first meet Lindenwood (3-15, 1-3 MIAA) in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. in St. Charles, Missouri, March 14. NSU will then travel to Jefferson City, Missouri, to face Lincoln (0-13, 0-4 MIAA) in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. March 15.  

Northeastern State is looking for its first conference wins after being swept by Missouri Western State and Northwest Missouri State in the opening weekend of conference play. Madison Boyd leads the way for the RiverHawks in batting average. The sophomore is hitting .418 (28-for-67) on the season with 13 RBI. Redshirt freshman Paige Gann (.393, 24-61) leads the team in RBI (20) and home runs (6). Senior Alli Eales is batting .365 (23-for-63) and is second on the team in both RBI (16) and home runs (5). Junior Kayce Wooldridge (4-5) has a 4.06 ERA in the circle this year with six complete games. She has recorded 48 strikeouts in 60.1 innings pitched.

Following the conference road swing, the RiverHawks will return home to face Washburn in a MIAA mid-week doubleheader March 17. The green and white will then head on the road to face University of Arkansas at Monticello March 18 and Delta State University March 19 in recently added non-conference doubleheaders.

SCOUTING THE LADY LIONS                
Lindenwood University is located in St. Charles, Missouri, and the team competes in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. The Lady Lions, picked ninth in the MIAA Preseason Poll, are 3-15 in 2015. Lindenwood split with Washburn and was swept by Emporia State to begin conference play. Alexandra Newcomb leads the team with a .358 batting average (19-for-53). Alexis Theis (.353, 18-for-51) leads the Lady Lions in homeruns (2) and RBI (13). Morgan Colvis is 2-5 in the circle for Lindenwood, throwing three complete games with a 3.32 ERA. She has recorded 27 strikeouts in 38.0 innings pitched. Kendall Ryndak (1-6) has a 6.35 ERA, striking out 45 in 39.2 IP.

Lincoln University is located in Jefferson City, Missouri, and the team competes in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. The Blue Tigeres are 0-13 in 2015, losing doubleheaders to Washburn and Emporia State to start MIAA play. Lincoln was picked to finish 14th in the Preseason MIAA Coaches' Poll. Sam Kircher leads the way for LU, hitting .313 (10-for-32) with two doubles, one homerun and 3 RBI. Lauren Stamp is 0-2 in the circle with a 12.66 ERA. Stamp has struck out 9 in 21.1 innings pitched.
