The headline:
The RiverHawks will be looking to snap a small two game skid on the road at Southwest Baptist in continuing MIAA play on Saturday.  Cameron Martin has averaged 14.4 points in the last five games and has entered the starting lineup in the last three for the RiverHawks.  Additionally, the NSU junior from McKinney, Texas has averaged three assists per game in the last five game span.

The series: Since 2005, the RiverHawks lead the overall series 3-2 and in MIAA play both teams have split the four contests.  Northeastern State has won all of their home meetings in the series with the Bearcats and are looking for their first program win at Southwest Baptist.

Last time out for NSU: Northeastern State had four in double-figures but 25 turnovers plagued NSU to an 80-65 non-conference loss to Dallas Baptist on Tuesday night.  Cameron Martin led the RiverHawks with 15 points, Braxton Williams had 11 points and a game high seven rebounds.  Tanner Mouse scored 12 and a season high five steals, Juvon Turner added ten and he had five rebounds. Northeastern State trailed from the opening horn and shot 39.6-percent (19-48).  From the arc, NSU didn't connect on a three pointer until the final two minutes of the contest while going 2-for-10.  The RiverHawks had a 33-32 edge in rebounds over DBU but they would sink 10 treys while going 49.1-percent (28-57) on the floor.

Last time out for SBU: The Bearcats trailed from the opening tip to Central Oklahoma and fell in Bolivar, Mo. 80-71 in SBU's MIAA opener on Thursday.  Southwest Baptist trailed as many as 16 points to the Bronchos but ten unanswered points near the end of the contest push the UCO lead back down to single digits.  Cartree Pettis had a career night for the Bearcats, scoring a career high 14 points to go along with 8 assists and 4 steals. The Bearcats had a 27-to-25 rebounding advantage in the game but was limited to four three-pointers while UCO had ten in the loss.

Scouting SBU: Prior to Thursday's loss to Central Oklahoma the Bearcats were riding a four game winning streak.  However, three of the games were played against NAIA programs who counted the game as an exhibition on their schedule. SBU's last NCAA Division II win was at Maryville 61-55 on Nov. 18.  Brian Patterson is SBU's lone player averaging in double-figures with 13 points a game and Louis Baltazar leads his squad with 6.5 rebounds per game.   As a team, SBU is averaging 74 points each time they hit the floor but are giving the ball up over 16 times a game.
