RiverHawks vs. Gorillas Series

Looking Back
  • Northeastern State overcame a pair of late turnovers to hold off Missouri Southern for an 83-80 win of Thursday evening inside the NSU Event Center. 
  • Led as many as 12 points in the second half but the Lions reeled the RiverHawks back in on an 11-2 run to trail 60-58 with 9:14 left in the game.  From then on Northeastern State could not shake away Southern. 
  • Shot 66.0-percent on 33-for-50 shooting with Bradley George having a career high 22 points.
  • Caleb Smith added 21 and Trent Cantrell matched his career mark with 18 points. 
  • First time since Jan. 25, 2017 at Missouri Southern that NSU had two players with 20+ points.   
Inside Men
NSU's post players, Aaron Givens and Josh Ihek are shooting a combined 68.9-percent and accounting for 10.7 rebounds per game.  On the offensive glass the two is averaging 4.1 rebounds per game, and scoring 12.8 points a game. 

4-Year
Tanner Mouse has scored ten or more points in 17 of the last 21 games for the RiverHawks.  The senior is second at NSU with 13.4 points an outing which is nearly double his career average during his first Mouse's three seasons (7.7 ppg).

By George
Since entering the starting lineup Bradley George has averaged 13.6 points in the last five games.  In 16 games played this season, the junior is averaging 7.1 points and 3.1 assists.

Double-Trouble
For the first time since Feb. 10, 2010 at Southwestern Okla., the RiverHawks had two players with a double-double on a box score.  Josh Ihek and Aaron Givens both hit double-doubles on Nov. 27 against Bacone by hitting double-digits in points and rebounds.

Benchmark 
Northeastern State set a new bar with 118 points on Nov. 30, 2018 against Central Christian (Mo.), a mere 72 hours after braking the prior record that has held for five years.
